Homemade Dog Treats Your Furry Friend Will Love

In honor of National cook for your pet day, I decided to share a fun delicious recipe that you can re-create from the comfort of your home. This healthy recipe is dog friendly and will have your furry friend begging for more!

A Dogs World

Rey: Being cute 🙂

The relationship we carry with dogs dates as far back as 40,000 years. From wolves to domesticated pets, after years of interaction we’ve developed a strong bond with our k9 companions. No matter where your little buddy comes from or what they’ve gone through, you give a dog love and they will return it ten times over. Although we are emotional beings at our core, as humans, we have a tendency of anthropomorphizing or humanizing our pets. Neuroscientist, Dr. Gregory Berns, conducted a study with MRI imaging that implies similarities in dogs and human brain responses, which leads us to believe that dogs are experiencing emotions in many ways like we do. It goes without question that every being should be treated fairly, however, if dogs have the ability to process emotions and empathize with their human companions then wouldn’t that be more of a reason to create a safe, healthy, and loving environment for your furry friend. You are the lifeline for your dog. What better way to care for your furry friend than by nurturing them with healthy homemade treats (and lots of belly rubs).

Mila: Getting tucked in 🙂

The Recipe

This fun and very easy to make recipe is healthy and safe for your furry friend to consume. This recipe was concocted from peanut butter, bananas, and raspberries. It’s the perfect treat that your dog won’t be able to resist! The recipe can be found below:

Gather Ingredients:
1 Cup of Naked PB Powder, 1 Egg, 1 Ripened Banana, 4 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
Place all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix them until it creates a dough like consistency.
Using a rolling pin, flatten the dough on a clean baking sheet.
Grab a bone shaped cookie cutter  (or any shape you’d like to use) and gently press it down on the cookie dough.
Grab a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper
Align your shaped cookies evenly on the baking sheet.

The Frosting:
1/2  Cup Peanut Butter
4 Tablespoons Coconut-milk Yogurt
Mix until completely combined
Rey: Wondering when his cookies will be done so he can devour them.
Once cooled, spread the frosting on top of the cookie and garnish with mashed up raspberries â˜»
Rey: Giving me his puppy dog eyes 🥺
